About this Event
At the end of the nineteenth century the primitive methods of stopping carts and trains often lead to injury – and even fatalities. Learn how one man, with determination, found a solution and kick-started a new world-wide industry. At their height Ferodo and Duron employed thousands of people from a wide area, and many thousands more in factories and depots around the globe. Even today the Ferodo name is one of the most recognised brands.
Trevor is an experienced speaker who has delivered engaging talks on Buxton’s heritage for many years, drawing on extensive research, rare images and film, and deep knowledge of the town’s industrial past.
