About this Event
In November 2025, the National Emergency Briefing (NEB) brought together leading experts to present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crisis to over 1200 politicians, business leaders and representatives from faith, sport, and media in Westminster.
That evidence is now on the public record and a film version has been created to bring together people in local communities across the UK along with local leaders to hear the evidence and discuss how to respond.

On Wednesday 27 May 2026 the University of Derby Buxton in partnership with Transition Buxton CIC will host a screening of the 50 minute NEB film at the Devonshire Dome at 7pm followed by a discussion panel, finishing at 8:30pm. The panel includes Professor Chris Sansom, the University’s theme lead on Zero Carbon, and Dr Polina Baranova, Associate Professor of Strategy & Sustainability, who work at the cutting edge of environmental research and education.
The briefing highlights threats to health, the economy, food, energy and national security leading to the suggestion of a WW2 scale of emergency response. Come along and listen, discuss and decide on what actions you think are needed and how you can contribute.
