About this Event
Join our journey to one million stories.
Berlin Storyteller Day brings together those who believe that International Education and Exchange is the world's best long-term strategy for human potential, prosperity and peace.
Berlin is our next Storyteller Day.
What changes when people with lived experience are part of the conversation about International Education and Exchange?
In New York, 140 Storytellers from 60 countries helped bring that question into the United Nations.
Now we are bringing our World Storyteller Project to Berlin, alongside people and organisations who know the value of exchange first-hand.
You do not need to be a polished speaker. Bring your experience, your curiosity and a willingness to listen to someone else.
What will you do on Saturday?
Storyteller Day is designed to be hands-on.
You will meet other Storytellers, explore how international education or exchange has shaped you, practice asking questions and learn how to invite a short story without interrupting someone or making assumptions about their experience.
Returning Storytellers and partner organisations will help shape the workshops. We will practise using phones only, asking permission before recording and giving people a genuine choice about whether to take part.
What happens at ICEF on Sunday?
Our Storyteller group will join ICEF Berlin's Seminar Day on Sunday 1 November.
We will arrange your pass to ICEF Berlin’s Seminar Day on Sunday 1 November and help you prepare to meet delegates, listen to their experiences and invite short stories about what international education and exchange make possible.
Some Storytellers may also be invited to contribute to a panel about access, opportunity and the barriers people still face. On-stage roles are selected separately and are not part of every registration.
Who should join us?
People aged 18 and over with experience of international education or exchange, whether recent or many years ago.
• Existing Made Impact Storytellers.
• People joining the project for the first time.
• People willing to share their experience, listen well and represent the project respectfully at ICEF.
• Motivated Storytellers of all generations.
Made Impact is a not-for-profit, so can't provide any travel or accommodation costs. If you would like to join, please take this into consideration before applying.
What makes the day different?
Interactive workshops with time to practise, ask questions and learn from each other.
• Direct connection between lived experience and the people shaping international education.
• Prepared place within the Made Impact Storyteller group at ICEF Berlin the next day.
• Lasting invitation to join the World Storyteller Project beyond Berlin.
Once you are part of the World Storyteller Project, you will be introduced to a whole community of fellow storytellers in more than 40 countries, ready to help us achieve one million stories.
