Emerging from the post-industrial fringes of North East England, machiner are known for blending raw analogue grit with electronic textures. After first appearing as a live entity in the summer of 2022 the band have steadily built a reputation across the UK for their immersive soundscapes, introspective lyricism, and high-intensity live performances. The trio’s music sits at the intersection of alternative rock, post-industrial electronica and dark wave with a sonic identity driven by distorted guitar layers, pulsing synth lines and mechanical rhythms that reflect the band’s name - music that feels like both the engine, and the journey it takes you on. Drawing influence from the likes of Nine Inch Nails, New Order and Depeche Mode, machiner transform emotional vulnerability into something expansive and cinematic.
The Hartlepool-based band have become known for their intense, atmospheric sets, creating an experience that feels both intimate and otherworldly. Live shows are now a defining element of their identity and their fascination with duality - human versus machine, emotion versus control, chaos versus structure. On their debut album Motion Waves, machiner capture that sound.
