Cette table ronde rassemblera Jessica Chen (Fondation JIA), Ron Rayside (RaysideLabossière) et Taïka Baillargeon (Héritage Montréal), qui discuteront de la récente Vision collective pour l’îlot Wings, visant à transformer ce secteur en pôle culturel pour le Quartier chinois de Montréal.
Depuis des générations, Nouilles Wing incarne la continuité dans un quartier en constante évolution. Avec ses bâtiments emblématiques se dressant au cœur du noyau institutionnel désigné patrimonial, l’îlot abrite certains des plus anciens bâtiments et organismes communautaires du Quartier chinois, recelant par le fait-même un fort potentiel pour l'avenir du quartier.
Aujourd’hui, l’îlot Wings se situe à la croisée d’un passé historique et d’un avenir à dessiner. À cet effet, la Fondation JIA rassemble des habitants, des entreprises, des institutions et des partenaires communautaires afin d’imaginer collectivement cet avenir. L’objectif, en plus de préserver un site important de Montréal, est de faire en sorte que l’héritage de Wings inspire une vision qui situe la culture, le patrimoine et les valeurs communautaires au cœur du développement urbain.
Cet événement sera l’occasion de lancer la nouvelle Vision collective pour l’îlot Wings. Les intervenant.es discuteront de la vision pour transformer l’îlot Wings en un pôle culturel, ainsi que son impact sur le Quartier chinois et sur la ville de Montréal.
L’îlot Wings: un pôle culturel pour l’avenir du Quartier chinois est présenté par la Fondation JIA, en partenariat avec RaysideLabossière et Héritage Montréal et avec le soutien financier de la Ville de Montréal.

Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m., dive into the heart of Chinatown to collectively imagine the future of the “Wing’s Block,” combining living memory with new possibilities.
In this panel discussion, Jessica Chen of the JIA Foundation will be joined by Ron Rayside of Rayside Labossière and Taïka Baillargeon of Héritage Montréal to discuss the newly released collective vision to transform the “Wing’s Block” into a cultural anchor for Montréal’s Chinatown.
For generations, Wing Noodles stood as a symbol of continuity in an ever-changing neighbourhood. Its landmark buildings stand within the heritage-designated institutional core of the district, a block with some of Chinatown’s oldest buildings and community organizations, holding significant potential for the neighbourhood’s future.
Today, the “Wing’s Block” stands at the intersection of memory and possibility. The JIA Foundation is bringing together residents, businesses, institutions and community partners to imagine the future of this historic site. The goal is not simply to preserve an important landmark in Montréal, but to have the Wing Noodles legacy inspire a vision that places culture, heritage and community values at the heart of urban development.
This event will present the newly released “Wing’s Block” Vision. Panelists will discuss plans to transform the site into a cultural anchor and what this will mean for Chinatown and Montréal.
“Wing’s Block” Vision: A Cultural Anchor for Chinatown’s Future is presented by the JIA Foundation in partnership with Rayside Labossière and Héritage Montréal, with financial support from the City of Montréal.
