Lunchtime Yoga Nidra: Six Weeks of Deep Rest for Busy Days

A six-week series of guided Yoga Nidra practices designed to help you rest and replenish, even when you feel like you don't have time.
About this Event

We all know that sleep and other forms of replenishment - such as movement or nutrition - are essential to our wellbeing, but the idea of daytime rest is often treated as optional or even indulgent.

It can be hard to take time for ourselves amid life's pressures and responsibilities, so this six week Yoga Nidra series offers a gentle and practical solution: a lunchtime pause designed to fit into busy lives, creating space for the nervous system to reset.

Intentionally priced at an affordable rate, the aim of this offering is to make quality rest as accessible as possible to anyone who needs it.

What to expect:

Yoga Nidra is not about zoning out - its focus is on allowing the body to do what it is designed to do when it feels safe enough to relax. There is no stretching, no performance, and no expectation to “clear the mind”.

You will simply be invited to lie down, fully supported, and be guided into a state of deep rest. In this suspended state between wakefulness and sleep, you will experience the welcome opportunity to recover physically and mentally from ongoing effort and stress.

The journey:

Each week will explore a different aspect of deep rest and awareness. While each session has been designed as a standalone experience, together they form a gentle progression over the six week series. Please scroll down for an overview of the weekly themes.

Your guide:

Every session will be led by Rory Singer, an experienced psychotherapist whose perspective is rooted in Gestalt and Psychoanalytic traditions, alongside Buddhist teachings. Drawn to creating and holding contemplative spaces that support deep exploration of self and the world, Rory is also a qualified Yoga Nidra instructor and enjoys combining a therapeutic approach to rest with somatic integration through guided meditative practices.

Why deep rest matters:

Many people find that a short period of genuine rest restores them more effectively than pushing through fatigue, reaching for caffeine, or switching tasks. Rather than being a reward for finishing everything on your to-do list, deep rest provides a steady foundation that makes the rest of your day possible.

Regular deep rest can support:

  • Regulation of stress and overwhelm
  • Improved focus and energy for the afternoon
  • Greater emotional steadiness and resilience
  • Long-term physical and mental health

These sessions may be especially helpful if you:
  • Feel tired but wired
  • Struggle to switch off during the day
  • Find that traditional meditation feels effortful
  • Want a healthier relationship with productivity
