About this Event
Inspired by her new book, A History of England in 25 Poems, Professor Catherine Clarke will explore what happens when we tell England’s history through poetry. Traverse 1,300 years and discover how poetry can connect us with the experiences, feelings and imaginations of those living before us. Whilst poetry can help us discover less familiar stories and forgotten voices, why are only a few memorialised?
This event is part of our monthly Lunchtime Talk series. On the second Wednesday of every month, join us at St Margaret’s Church for an in-depth exploration of part of the Abbey’s history.
