Biographies
Born in China, 2002, Billy started studying the piano at the age of 4. He enrolled The Purcell School for young musicians for sixth-form with scholarship and studied the piano under Danielle Salamon. Billy has performed in various acclaimed venues such as St Martin In The Fields and the Purcell Room.
Billy studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, holding a BMus degree in piano performance with Honours. During his undergraduate studies, Billy received mentorship from critically acclaimed pianists and professors such as Noriko Ogawa, Martin Roscoe and Joan Havill - A former teacher of the celebrated British pianist Paul Lewis. His studies at the Guildhall was generously funded by the principal Jonathan Vaughan and the Gillian and Freddie Martin award.
Billy is a keen performer who has recieved masterclasses from a variety of world renowned pianists including Boris Berman and Bernard d’Ascoli. He has parcipated in competitions such as the Windsor International Piano Competition and the Bromsgrove. He has also participated in the Cambridge International Piano Festival and had the honour to perform to renowned concert pianists such as Stephen Kovacevich.
Billy is currently pursuing his masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music under the mentorship of concert pianist and professor Mei-Ting Sun.
