This time of year can bring joy, and it can also bring shorter, darker days, a world full of uncertainty, and bodies that quietly carry it all. Join Compassionate Atlanta at the Decatur History Center for an hour of gentle, practical learning about how our nervous systems respond to stress and how we can find our way back to steadiness. Together we will explore simple ways to notice what is happening inside us, draw strength from the people, places, and memories that support us, and ground ourselves in the present moment so we can stay in what is often called the resilient zone.No experience is needed, and everyone is welcome exactly as they are. You will leave with a few easy practices you can use at your desk, in the car, or around a crowded table, along with a deeper sense of compassion for yourself and the people around you.
Bring your lunch, bring a friend, and give yourself the gift of one calm hour in the middle of a busy December.
