Following the popularity of our summer heritage walks, we’re returning to Lumpsey Mine for another guided walk exploring the remains, landscape and stories of East Cleveland’s ironstone mining industry.Starting at Land of Iron in Skinningrove, this walk explores part of East Cleveland’s ironstone mining landscape and the history connected with Lumpsey Mine.
The walk takes place on Saturday 24 October, 10am–2pm, starting and finishing at Land of Iron.
This is a moderate walk of around five miles and will take approximately three to four hours. The route includes some road walking at the start and end, a moderate climb, uneven ground, and areas that may be muddy depending on the weather.
Please wear sturdy footwear and bring water, weather-appropriate clothing, and a snack or packed lunch.
Please note: Tickets must be booked in advance. Places are limited, so please book before attending.
