LUMINEX Presents: The Infinite Between explores the profound and mysterious relationship between the ocean and the universe, two seemingly infinite realms that shape human existence while remaining largely unknown to us.

Connected through forces both visible and unseen, from the moon’s gravitational pull on the tides to the rhythms that govern bodies, ecosystems, and celestial systems, the ocean and cosmos become mirrors of one another: vast, ancient, immersive, and beyond complete comprehension.

Through contemporary practices that unite art, technology, and nature, the exhibition invites artists to interpret these interconnected worlds through light, sound, movement, digital media, and sensory experience, creating opportunities to consider our place within systems far greater than ourselves.

At its core, LUMINEX Presents: The Infinite Between asks how encounters with the unknown can awaken wonder, humility, and a deeper spiritual connection—to nature, to the universe, and ultimately, to one another.

Info: Zero Point Field is inspired by processes of quantum mechanics, diffraction, deterioration and subatomic field fluctuations, this accompanying light installation expands on the relationship between the virtual and the actual by breaking down the visible spectrum of light. The capturing process of Zero Point Field uses IR depth laser scanning technology to compute virtual data points of spatial information about the physical dimensions of four live plants, and animates them into an inter-exchangeable field of particle noise.

Info: Symphony of Lights is an interactive audiovisual performance transforming audience-generated light into evolving digital and sonic landscapes. Using real-time computer vision, audience phone flashlights become creative inputs that shape generative visuals and
sound. Responding simultaneously to collective participation and live electric harp, the experience creates an evolving dialogue between audience, performer, light, sound, and technology.

Info: Skylights presents a monumental 2,000-drone aerial experience above Venice Beach, transforming the night sky into a luminous canvas connecting ocean and universe. Inspired by the unseen forces linking moon, tide, and human experience, the choreography
moves between celestial and aquatic forms—using light, movement, and technology to evoke the mystery of two infinite realms and our enduring desire to understand our place between
them.

Info: CONVERGE is an immersive light installation exploring light as a sculptural medium through reflection, water, and movement. A projected beam interacts with reflective surfaces and shifting water, creating an evolving environment shaped by light, atmosphere, and
perspective. Responding to the natural rhythms of Venice Beach, the work invites visitors to experience the fluid relationship between nature, perception, and place.

Info: As an audio accompaniment to "Zero Point Field," Ian Wellman will present “Waves of Static,” a listening piece that represents the relationship between the skies, cosmos, and the depths of the ocean. Entangled with recordings from NASA’s archive in the public domain, shortwave radio, bat echolocation, manmade electromagnetic systems, and VLF, the earth’s own electromagnetic “radio” from distant lightning storms, weaving in hydrophonic and vibrational field recordings from our coast lines, the piece concludes with a live transmission of the waves crashing upon Venice Beach to bring the ocean to the boardwalk. The piece utilizes whispers of hiss as connective points between the ghosts of the deep and the distant unknown worlds.
