About this Event
An evening built around making, light, and thoughtful conversation.
Lumina Night is a beginner-friendly lantern workshop and storytelling social hosted by Lumina Gathering Guild.
Participants create one decorative paper-and-wood lantern using a prepared workshop kit, then illuminate the finished piece with a battery-powered LED light.
No previous art or crafting experience is required.
The experience includes three parts:
Lantern Craft Workshop
Follow a live instructor through the process of assembling and decorating one lantern.
Participants may work with:
pre-cut paper;
lightweight wooden components;
decorative markers or paint;
safe fastening materials;
battery-powered LED lights.
Designs may be abstract, seasonal, geometric, or personally meaningful.
Light & Story Circle
Once the lanterns are complete, the room transitions into a softer-light setting.
Guests may voluntarily share a brief story, memory, reflection, or personal meaning connected with themes such as:
home;
celebration;
hope;
gathering;
light;
community.
Sharing is always optional.
The event does not claim to teach, reproduce, or represent a specific cultural or religious lantern tradition unless a qualified cultural contributor is separately confirmed.
Glow Social
The final portion is an informal creative social with tea, confirmed non-alcoholic refreshments, optional project photos, and voluntary conversation.
Each participant may leave with the lantern they created during the paid workshop.
The completed lantern is part of the workshop activity and is not a promotional gift.
