This past weekend, several of our teams participated in the Bay Challenge Cup. Our kids turned in some fantastic performances—a few of the teams made it to the finals and brought home some hardware.Tournament play gives young players valuable opportunities to test their skills against different opponents, make decisions under pressure, build confidence and resilience, and apply what they’ve learned in training to real-game situations.
Last year, Lakewood United Football Club spent more than $20,000 on tournaments, including the Bay Challenge Cup, Ohio Travel Cup, Westlake Invitational and Medina Invitational. These are not additional fees we pass along to our families. We believe tournament opportunities are an important part of player development, and we want every LUFC player to have the chance to compete at this level.
But providing these opportunities comes at a cost and that’s where we need your help.

LUFC Parents' Night Out
Our first official fundraiser, set to take place at the
Lake Erie Building—more commonly known as the
“Screw Factory”—at 730 p.m. Friday, September 18.
It will be a great opportunity to connect with fellow LUFC families, coaches and supporters—and, most importantly, help provide our players with the opportunities they need to develop and compete at their best.
Can’t make it? You can still support the club with a donation. Every dollar helps us continue providing our players with opportunities to train, compete and grow.
When our kids step onto the field at a tournament, they’re getting more than a chance to win a trophy. They’re learning how to compete, how to handle adversity, how to be a teammate and how to believe in themselves.
Those experiences don’t happen by accident. They take coaches, fields, equipment—and opportunities to play against great competition.
Your support helps make those opportunities possible. Whether you join us on Sept. 18 or make a donation, you’re investing directly in our players and helping give them the chance to grow, compete and create memories that will stay with them long after the final whistle.
