Lucent Kashi: Dev Deepawali on the Ganga

Experience Dev Deepawali in Varanasi from the holy waters of the Ganga. As evening falls, lakhs of glowing diyas light up the historic ghats, and the riverfront becomes a river of gold. Lucent Kashi, presented by NERDS TRAVEL, is an exclusive boat experience that brings together the spiritual charm, cultural heritage and illuminated beauty of Banaras, all seen from the water.
🚤 The Boat Journey
- Boarding at Shivala Ghat: our team helps every guest board safely, and a life jacket is provided for each guest.
- A cruise past all 84 ghats: a slow, scenic ride along the illuminated riverfront, with the city's lights reflected on the water.
- A mid-river anchor point: the boat stops in the river for an unobstructed view of the Ganga Aarti, the lamps and the rituals, away from the crowds on the steps.
- Sky fireworks: a display of light across the night sky, mirrored on the river.
- Return to Shivala Ghat: the journey ends where it began, with the glow of Kashi still with you.

- Your own diya ritual: light a traditional diya and float it on the sacred Ganges.

📋 Good to Know
- Children below 3 years travel free. Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
- Dress: there is no dress code, but we recommend traditional or cultural dress. Warm layers help, as the river can be cool after dark.
- Parking is not available at the meeting point. We recommend arriving by auto-rickshaw or taxi, and our team can help with directions.
- Accessibility: please tell us in advance if you need help boarding or leaving the boat. We can arrange accessible accommodation on request, on a chargeable basis.
- Refunds: if you cannot attend, please tell us at least 24 hours before the boat ride for a refund.
- Please bring a valid photo ID for every guest. Arrive 30 minutes before boarding, since the ghats are very crowded that evening.

- **5:00 PM: Boarding.** Our team helps every guest board safely.
- **5:15 PM: Departure.** The boat sets off on the Ganga.
- **5:30 to 6:15 PM: Cruise past the 84 ghats.** Enjoy the illuminated riverfront as the lamps are lit.
- **6:15 PM: Mid-river anchor.** Settle in for the view of the Ganga Aarti.
- **6:15 to 6:45 PM: Ganga Aarti.** Watch the lamps, chants and rituals from the water.
- **6:45 to 7:00 PM: Diya floating ritual.** Light your own diya and float it on the sacred Ganges.
- **7:00 to 7:30 PM: Live entertainment.** Traditional music and cultural performances on board.
