About this Event
Described as '(an) operatic (voice for) classical music', Melynk's style is one which can appeal to any classical music fan with an open mind, especially fans of Bach; to Christian groups; to people interested in twelve-tone music, Schoenberg and Josef Hauer; John Cage; and of course to anyone interested in immersive sonic experiences. Melynk's work takes inspiration from Indian classical music, in terms of rhythmic virtuosity; from the idea of 'emergent sounds'; and the drawing out of time as a way to experience the intervals and overtones more fully. The process is creative and cumulative, rather than repetitive and duplicative.
This event is a unique opportunity to experience the genius of Melynk first-hand, with the audience seated around the piano, providing a fascinating, absorbing, and totally immersive experience.
Followed by refreshments.
