Ludwig van Beethoven - Violin Concerto
Felix Mendelssohn - Symphony No. 3
In Beethoven's Violin Concerto, he strikes a heroic tone: expansive in scale, open-minded in spirit, and carried by a deeply human idealism. Daniel Lozakovich lets the violin speak with a natural intensity that never feels forced: clear in tone, warm at its core.
Mendelssohn, on the other hand, sets out on a journey, heading north. His Third Symphony, the "Scottish", grew out of impressions of mist-shrouded landscapes, ancient ruins and rugged coastlines.
