Event President of The Royal Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony

The Kathina Ceremony and Loy Krathong are traditionally the Southeast Asian cultural ceremonies of Buddhism.
The Kathina Ceremony marks the end of the Buddhist Lent period and is a major celebration and a time of presentation of new robes to the monks.
Loy Krathong (Floating Festival) is a traditional practice of Buddhists in Southeast Asia and was meant to worship and pay homage to the Holy Footprint of Lord Buddha on the beach of the Namada River in India. Devotees and interested people bring bowls containing flowers, candles and incense sticks that are placed on the surface of the pond or lake after they make a wish.
We will also be a Memorial Ceremony marking the twenty-ninth years passing of the founder and former abbot of Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep NM. (Phrakhru Sangkharak Manas Katapunyo)
