🌿 Love Your West Park Monthly Community Litter Pick 🧤🗑️We’re launching a monthly community litter pick in West Park, South Shields, and everyone is welcome to get involved. 💚
The West Park is an important space for our whole community somewhere for children to play, families to spend time together, people to walk their dogs and neighbours to enjoy the outdoors. By giving just a little of our time each month, we can help keep the park clean, welcoming and somewhere we can all be proud of. It's also a great opportunity to catch up and make friends within our community.
📅 When: Every **3rd Sunday of the month**
🌿 First litter pick: Sunday **18 October 2026**
⏰ Time: 10am
📍 Where: West Park, South Shields
📌 Meeting point: West Park community gardens (opposite the tennis courts)
You don’t need to commit to every month. Come along whenever you can whether you can stay for the full litter pick or just spare half an hour. Every bag collected makes a difference.
It’s also a great opportunity to meet neighbours, get outside and show what can be achieved when our community works together.
🧤 Please bring gloves and a litter picker if you have one. We have kindly been loaned 10 from the community garden which will be shared on a first come, first serve basis. Please return these at the end of your pick.
👨👩👧👦 Families are very welcome but children should be supervised by an adult.
⚠️ A co-ordinator will be around at the starting point to share any guidance on safe litter picking and avoiding risk.
2026 dates:
