When Jesus was asked which commandment mattered most, he gave an answer simple enough to remember and hard enough to take a lifetime: love God, and love your neighbor as yourself.
Churches have attached a lot more to that over the years: rules, rankings, and decisions about who's in and who's out. Too many people have been told to love it or leave it, and were never loved enough to stay.
What would happen if love were the only requirement, and that turned out to be harder than any rule?
