About this Event

Ever thought it would be fun to be a film critic or a journalist?

In this informative workshop (plus full festival access),the journalist, writer, storyteller and educator, Jamie White, shares the basics of written journalism. Jamie will also help you set up a simple online page to publish your work before setting you loose on the Love Is Film Festival to practise your new skills in a no-pressure, fun environment.

The workshop runs from 10am-4pm on Thursday 23rd April and then the main festival programme runs from 24th-26th April. The main festival programme is listed in the agenda below.

This Festival Pass Plus gives you access to the basics of journalism workshop, plus all 3 days of screenings and events at the festival*, so you can put some of your skills into action, or just enjoy the festival as a whole. This is about having fun and learning something new at the same time.

This experience will provide the time, space and the content to practise being a journalist for the weekend, and at the end of it you wil have created online articles to get your new page going. Who knows, you may find your new calling.

The Festival Pass Plus is open to over 18's only. If you cannot commit to the entire festival, don't worry, we all have lives; after the workshop you can dip in and out as it suits you, and we're sure you'll find lots of inspiration from the experience.

To purchase a Festival Pass without the basic journalism workshop see the Love is Film Festival Weekend Pass, giving you access to all screenings and events* from Friday - Sunday. Individual single event tickets are also available for screenings.

*excluding the childrens events
