About this Event

The Love Is Film Festival is a new, annual pop-up film festival taking place from 24th – 26th April 2026 across multiple spaces at Urban HQ. The festival explores love as a complex, universal and deeply human experience, using cinema to create connection, conversation and shared emotional experiences.

The festival pass gives you access to the main programme of activities* across three days, including 6 feature films, 2 short film programmes, local spotlight, reception party and networking.

If you would like to include the journalism workshop on the Thursday please see our Festival Pass Plus events page.

If the festival pass isn't for you, there are tickets available for the individual screenings and events as a single ticket.

Please see our schedule of screenings and events below for what is included in the Love Is Film Festival Pass. You can toggle between days to view a comprehensive list of events.

*The Festival Pass does not include the Thursday workshops or the children's events.

By purchasing tickets you are agreeing that you will only attend events which are specific to your age, as listed in brackets in the event titles. Under 18s are welcome to buy festival tickets, but will only gain access to age appropriate screenings. No refunds or discounts will be applied due to age restrictions.

FRIDAY

πŸ•‘: 01:00 PM - 02:45 PM
FEATURE: Enduring Love (15)

Info: Starring Rhys Ifans and a pre-James Bond Daniel Craig. The festival starts with a bang...well, a very slow hot air ballon disaster. This story of misplaced affection is written by novelist Ian McEwan and directed by Roger Michell of Notting Hill fame, though is far away from a rom-com.

FILM ABERTAWE Networking Session (All Ages)

Info: Join the Swansea based film collective Film Abertawe for an informal networking session. Hear about how they are building local foundations for filmmakers and meet other industry people attending the festival.

πŸ•‘: 04:00 PM - 05:30 PM
SHORTS: Heartwarmers (18)

Info: Our specially selected programme of short films from Wales and around the world, showcasing the lighter side of love. This programme is sure to leave you with a tingle.

πŸ•‘: 06:00 PM - 07:30 PM

πŸ•‘: 08:00 PM - 10:00 PM
FEATURE: Casablanca (U) (Outdoor Screening)

Info: The all-time classic romance film, often quoted, and still a riveting watch. We'll be screening the film in our leafy courtyard here at Urban HQ. Bergman and Bogart are amazing in this wistful thriller. "Here's looking at you, kid". -- This event may be moved inside if the weather is unsafe for an outdoor screening --

SATURDAY

πŸ•‘: 12:00 PM - 01:45 PM
FEATURE: In The Mood For Love (PG)

Info: Heartstopping filmmaking at it’s best. A tale of unrequited love which sits high up in the 'best of' charts. Shot by maverick cinematographer Christopher Doyle under the meticulous direction of Wong Kar Wai, from the second the film was released in 2000 it felt like it was already a classic.

πŸ•‘: 05:00 PM - 06:30 PM
SHORTS: Heartbreakers (18) (Repeat Programme)
