About this Event
For centuries, jewelry has held what the heart cannot: love, memory, devotion, grief. Worn close to the body, these precious objects become vessels for remembrance, connecting us to those we love across time and even beyond death.
For NYC Jewelry Week, fine jewelry designers Viviana Langhoff and Angie Marei present Love After Death: Objects of Devotion, a two-night exhibition exploring jewelry as talisman, relic, and keeper of memory.
Langhoff’s Memento Mori meets Marei’s Egyptian-inspired fine jewelry in a dialogue between mortality and eternity, where ancient symbolism, ritual, and precious materials give physical form to the things we cannot hold onto.
DAY 1 | Exhibition Viewing + Ritual
The first evening invites guests to experience the jewelry and participate in an intimate memorial ritual honoring those we have loved and lost. Visitors will be invited to contribute a personal gesture of remembrance, transforming the space into a collective expression of memory, grief, love, and enduring connection.
DAY 2 | Salon Discussion
The second evening moves from ritual into conversation. Langhoff and Marei host an intimate salon exploring how jewelry and symbolism have helped us navigate mortality, honor those we love, and give physical form to memory and devotion.
Together, the two evenings move between object, ritual, and conversation, revealing jewelry as more than adornment: a vessel for memory, meaning, and the people we carry with us.
