About this Event
Author Lori Tucker-Sullivan knows her subject well. After reigniting her writing career following the death of her husband, she interviewed several rock star widows whose husbands had also died young. The resulting book, I Can’t Remember if I Cried, chronicled their shared experiences of loss and marked Lori’s return to her youthful passions for both music and writing.
Lori realized that her own heartbreak offered an opportunity to again embrace the creative life to which she’d always been drawn. She will invite participants to ask themselves the same questions she once asked herself: Where do I go from here? What were your wildest dreams as a teenager? Did you give up your passions or interests earlier in life? What would you do now if you had no constraints?
Attendees will enjoy refreshments, hear Lori’s story of transformation after loss, and then spend time naming their own deep interests set aside by circumstance, obligation and time. You will also have the opportunity to explore how grief itself is a catalyst for change, and to imagine what the next steps of that transformation could look like.
Whether you're navigating the passing of a loved one, loss of employment, a friendship ending, a newly empty nest, or another profound life change, loss is a universal experience — and an invitation to change course.
Lori is the 2026 Author in Residence in The Village Club Enrichment Fund’s Women of Impact Residency Program, a year-long experience designed to celebrate and engage with extraordinary women who are shaping our region’s cultural, creative and civic life.
