About this Event
Looking Ahead, Looking After What Matters is an in-person event for the general public, offering practical steps to support you and the people you love.
Your wishes, clearly recorded
Consider whether your Will is still right for you, when to review an existing Will, how to choose executors, and how to provide for partners, children and grandchildren. The discussion also covers second marriages and blended families, and recording your wishes clearly.
Your voice, your choice: lasting powers of attorney
Learn about the two types of lasting power of attorney (LPA), choosing trusted attorneys and replacements, the decisions they can make, and when each document can be used. Find out why planning ahead matters.
Looking after the next generation
Explore gifts, trusts and estate planning, including helping family during your lifetime while balancing generosity with your own needs; when a trust might be appropriate; supporting vulnerable beneficiaries; inheritance tax considerations; and the costs and responsibilities of trusts.
Where Will I Live? The Missing Piece of Your Later Life Plan
Plan where you want to live in later life, whether that means staying put or moving, while you still have choices. Planning is about protecting the life you want and your independence, not giving things up.
