Curious about entrepreneurship, starting a business, or want to build entrepreneurship skills?
The Longo Family Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) workshop series is an in-person program delivered over 7 weeks (2-hours weekly) designed to help you evaluate ideas and turn them into successful businesses. You’ll learn to identify problems, understand your audience, and explore what makes a business viable. Whether you’re exploring entrepreneurship or eager to start your own business, Longo Family BYOB prepares you to create real business opportunities.
Participants will also have the chance to compete for a share of $40,000 in funding to bring their ideas to life. To be eligible for the final pitch competition, participants must attend at least five of the seven sessions.The Longo Family BYOB program runs at Humber Downtown from October 21st to December 2nd, 2026, with sessions held on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The workshop will take place in room IGS511 at Humber Downtown. Please note that the location is subject to change, and any updates will be communicated accordingly.

Please note: Only workshops 1-4 and 6 will be in person at Humber Downtown, alterniative options will be provided for week 5 and week 7.

- Week 2: Research: Types of Data and its Use in Entrepreneurship - November 4th
- Week 3: Identifying Your Customer and Target Markets - November 11th
- Week 4: Assessing Feasibility for a Business Idea - November 18th
- Week 6: How to Pitch - December 2nd
