Join this leisurely ramble with a Birmingham Ramblers group leader and enjoy social walking with our friendly members.
It is very helpful for the walk leader to have prior knowledge of numbers that will be on this walk. We ask you to complete this very brief form to help with our planning of the walk to ensure that we can safely accommodate all who wish to join us. Meeting arrangements:
The meeting point is 10.45 am at the Banners Gate entrance to Sutton Park (Chester Road North B73 6SD. ‘What 3 words’ = dame.fakes.jaws). Meet by the two big, felled tree trunks outside the children's play area.
BY BUS from Priory Queensway Old Square stop PQ8 take the 09.40am 937 bus towards Brownhills. Alight at 10.01 at Banners Gate Longmoor Road to meet the walk leader, Sheila Lyons. Then there will be a 10-minute walk from the bus stop to Banners Gate park entrance for 10.45 am. Alternatively, the no.77 bus stops at Banners Gate from either Sutton Coldfield or Erdington. Other bus options include 907 and 5 to the Beggars Bush with a 15 minute walk to Banners Gate. Check the times for your chosen bus to ensure you arrive at Banners Gate park entrance for 10.45 am.
BY TRAIN. Take the Cross City Line to Sutton Coldfield then walk to Town Gate and through the park to the Banners Gate entrance to meet the walk leader at 10.45am.
BY CAR: Car parking is currently free at the Banner’s Gate car park, but this may change, so please check.
Meet at Banner’s Gate by 10.45 am. There is a small café and a free to use toilet at Banners Gate. There are no toilets on the walk itself.
Walk Description:
This walk is in association with Dr. Mike Hodder (University of Birmingham archaeologist) and a small donation of £3.00 per walker is requested, which will go to “The Friends of Sutton Park”. Sheila Lyons will collect donations before the start of the walk. Please bring the correct money.
Expressions of Interest for this walk will close at 06.00 on Saturday 19 September. After this, please email [email protected] to enquire about any late availability for the walk.

Please note that some walks have a waiting list so tickets are NOT TRANSFERABLE; if you are unable to join us then please cancel your place to free it up for someone who may be on the waiting list rather than passing it to someone else.
