Six giant Easter eggs. Dozens of animals. One cracking day out. ZSL London Zoo's annual Zoonormous Egg Hunt is back for Easter 2026, running from 28 March to 12 April — and this year it's extra special, marking ZSL's incredible 200th anniversary.
The hunt is built into your zoo visit — no separate ticket needed, just show up and collect your trail card from the Main Lawn. Each of the six giant eggs is hidden somewhere in the zoo, representing a different animal, and reveals a secret letter when you find it. Unscramble all six to crack the code. It sounds simple. It isn't — the zoo is big and the eggs are well-hidden.
<h3>What's in the Hunt</h3>
Start at the Main Lawn Easter Hub to pick up your trail card and map. Plot the coordinates, set off across the zoo, and collect stamps at each giant egg. Along the way you'll pass gorillas, Sumatran tigers, giraffes, meerkats, penguins — spring is one of the best times to visit, when the animals are active and the gardens are blooming. Once you've cracked the code, return to the Main Lawn to claim your chocolate reward.
After the hunt, there's a free Easter arts and crafts activity where kids can decorate their own Easter Bunny crown inspired by ZSL's 200 years of conservation science. Also worth visiting: the new ZSL Heritage Exhibition, telling the story of the world's oldest scientific zoo.
Members' bonus: A special rainbow ZSL200 egg is hidden somewhere in the zoo — the first member to find it and bring it to the Easter Hub wins a prize.
<h3>Getting There</h3>
The zoo is in Regent's Park, NW1 4RY. Nearest tubes are Camden Town (Northern line, 10-minute walk) or Regent's Park (Bakerloo line). Bus routes 274 and C2 stop nearby. No on-site parking — public transport is the way to go.
Advance booking is strongly recommended — Easter slots at London Zoo sell out fast, especially over Easter weekend itself. Book online before you go.
