Headlining this evening is Lon Chaney Movie who have previously headlined 2 incredible showcase nights at the Linsmore and has a ton of momentum going right now! Also performing on this evening will be Rock, Alternative Indie Band Flight Risk and Grungy, Americana Indie Rock Band, The Steady Burn! The night starts at 7:30pm, there will be a $10 cover charge at the door!Lon Chaney was known as the Man of a Thousand Faces. While it cannot be said that the Lon Chaney Movie are the Band of Thousand Sounds, the potential is certainly there. This is music where the drums and bass (oh that bass) come straight at you, with the guitar riffs melting into the rhythm to take you away. Indie, meet Prog. An almost familiar sound that will sometimes blast its way into your ears with visions of Jane’s Addiction, Sabbath or Zeppelin before bringing you back from the edge with warm guitar riffs. A fresh take on disciplined indie rock with a pedigree of Prog and dare I say Punk? Gary, Neil and Enrico are always worth a listen .
Flying out of Toronto, fresh off a performance at the legendary El Mocambo, comes a band with an unstoppable sound and energy that will leave you craving for more. Flight Risk combines a rhythmic mix of rock, pop and alternative music with a brand new modern-day edge. Knowing sure well that time and experience is what really makes a band, Flight Risk is just that. Years of experience and an appetite for more makes a recipe to look out for.
The Steady Burn out of the ashes, a new journey begins, one telling stories of the many roads travelled, constantly moving and changing through the twists and turns that life throws your way. The Steady Burn is a Toronto-based indie rock band, rooted in a grungy influence of alternative, alt country, Americana and folk. Fronted by Blake Ruelens, formerly of Left on the Dial, whose songwriting, vocals and acoustic guitar form the underlying voice and fire of this project. Jennifer Sarsfield, also of LOTD, provides not only her ferocious drumming, but her own haunting vocals to many of the songs. They’ve teamed up with the innovative musical contributors and harmonies of Sean Turner on lead guitar and Jacob Fleichmann on bass, rounding out the new and explorative sonic presence of this band”s matured sound. Together, The Steady Burn feels like a constant wave of thought and emotion, raw and powerful, that continues to break new ground.
