About this Event
Learn how to create a traditional lomandra dilly bag using Aboriginal weaving techniques and practices.
Facilitated by exhibiting artist Maddy Pitman, participants will build on their existing skills while exploring the cultural significance and methods of working with natural fibres.
Maddy Pitman's exhibition ngurramba, on show from September 25 to November 21 explores her connection with both freshwater and saltwater country and how both places have shaped her identity and weaving practice. As a Murrawarri woman with a profound connection to the bush, creeks and open spaces, growing up on the coast on Biripi Country afforded a deep connection to the beaches, estuaries and rivers.
