There is outstanding work being done across our city to address food insecurity. Still, these amazing efforts are hindered by two persistent challenges:Food Bank and organisations have the systems and skills, but struggle against insufficient funding, resources and volunteers.
Churches have deep compassion for the poor but often lack the capacity and resources to operate their own food programme.
Imagine if…
there were simple ways to turn these challenges into opportunities?
Imagine if…
every hard-working food organisation had 5-7 churches wrapping around them with donations, food drives, volunteers and compassion?
If your church, food bank, or for-purpose organisation is keen to lean in, join together in your part of the city, we urge you to join us at one of our five hui: ‘Local Churches and Kai Security’.
In addition to exploring simple and scalable models for churches and food organisations to collaborate, you’ll have the chance to connect and meet the very people you might want to collaborate with. These hui will each have coffee and a light breakfast and are planned to be early enough to attend before we head to work.
