Beginner Class, Week 1
Caddis Pupa. The caddis pupa fly pattern imitates a caddisfly pupa rising to the surface to hatch, a stage that trout readily feed upon. Its lifelike profile and subtle movement make it an effective choice whenever caddis are active. Fish it with a natural dead drift, then let it slowly rise near the end of the drift to imitate the emerging insect and entice aggressive strikes.
