Join us for a free, two-day LivingWorks ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) on October 27–28, 2026 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Burlington, 1117 Williston Road, South Burlington, VT. ASIST is the world's most widely used suicide intervention skills training program, trusted by more than 2 million people trained worldwide and backed by decades of research.
Over two full days of real conversations, guided practice, and group learning, you'll build the confidence and skills to recognize when someone may be having thoughts of suicide, talk with them directly and without judgment, and work with them to build an immediate safety plan and connect them to ongoing support.
You don't need a clinical background to attend. ASIST is built for anyone 16 and older who wants to be ready to help, whether that's in a workplace, a classroom, a congregation, a clinical setting, or simply among family and friends. Lunch is provided both days, and space is limited to 30 participants.
Who should attend: Licensed clinicians, crisis workers, and community mental health staff; social workers, peer support specialists, and community health workers; teachers, coaches, and school staff; faith and community leaders; first responders and human services professionals; parents, caregivers, and any community member who wants to be prepared to help.
What you will learn: How to ask directly about suicide with confidence; how to listen with empathy and without judgment; how to recognize your own attitudes and reactions; how to build a collaborative, immediate safety plan; how to connect someone to further care.
