We are super excited to host TWO talented Singer Songwriters in The Backroom Bar at Compass Point. These two are story tellers, and we love the stories that they tell. Each of them is talented and entertaining. They have never met but they are both going to WOW you with their songs!

Jack Summers is a songwriter from Weston, Missouri.
Jack’s childhood memories include his father reading him Bob Dylan lyrics like bedtime stories and going to the Walnut Valley Music Festival. As he grew up, he started writing lyrics of own and eventually, he won the Walnut Valley Songs for a Better World Songwriting Contest.
Jack’s music is story-centric Americana that covers everything from the death of a West Virginia coal town to the death of the American mall.
In 2021, Jack released his debut album ‘No Longer and Not Yet’
In 2023, Jack won the Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest. Since then, he's played everywhere from a honkey tonk in Austin, to the backwoods of Awendaw, SC, to Iowa's oldest barn.

Kris Schultz is a songwriter originally from Topeka, Kansas.
After years assisting musicians as merch slinger, road manager and van driver, but never playing or singing herself, Kris Schultz eventually acquired a cheap guitar and began writing musical snapshots of a life wandering, looking for - and maybe finding - home in unexpected places.
She released her full-length album, Standard Issue Heart, in October 2021, has played locally at such legendary venues as The Saxon Pub and Cactus Cafe, toured in the Midwest, Southwest and Southeastern US, has been featured in the live performance series “Songs In Places” for the last year, and is currently working on her second album.
