Acclaimed vocalist and songwriter Lizz Wright brings a powerful and soulful voice to the Coolidge stage, offering a reflection of America’s rich cultural fabric. Blending jazz, gospel, blues, folk and soul, Wright brings audiences together with music rooted in love, humanity and emotional truth. The New York Times described her voice as “a smooth, dark alto possessed of qualities you might associate with barrel-aged bourbon or butter-soft leather.” Inspired by her Southern upbringing in Georgia, where she served as music director at the small church pastored by her father, Wright’s music is grounded in spiritual depth and a strong sense of connection. Her songs embrace the beauty and complexity of everyday life, creating an atmosphere of warmth, belonging and shared humanity. Made possible by the Revada Foundation of the Logan Family. Part of the Library’s celebration of America 250.
There will be no preconcert conversation for this event.
