About Little Pot Production Induction Tickets
Come along for an induction before deciding if you would like to become a regular.
Your Little Pot Production induction includes two consecutive sessions:
one is throwing on Small Ceramics Wheels - with wet, soft clay;
the other is trimming - when your pot has dried out a bit and reached 'leather hard' stage.
(If you can't make the following week for trimming, do get in touch: there is always a work around :o)
After your Little Pot Production induction, and if you would like to join us to do more, become a regular. Regulars pay as little as £10 to work on the wheels. We also offer clay for hand building your own projects (from £7) and a selection of Annie Sloan chalk paints, some acrylic paints and various media if you want to explore surface finishes (£5).
We're set up for 3 hours (11 AM - 2 PM) but there's no start time: come, go, take a break, eat cake, as and when. Also, we don't take you payment in advance or penalise you if you can't make it. As a Community Interest Company we love that Clay Club is affordable, sustainable and welcoming in a low-key yet big-thing way.
About Us
We are a small group of 5 to 10 regulars who meet most Wednesdays to catch up and get stuck in. Some of us are here for: the clay, the adventure and for simply showing up routinely to a creative and absorbing practice. Not forgetting, the easy social connection and the unbeatable Soft Touch Cafe vibe.
Whether you are a complete beginner or are an experienced clay enthusiast, you are welcome to join our Little Pot Production Line or to work on your own project. We also have a wide range of tools and equipment so you can pinch, slab, coil, sculpt, carve etc. Whatever you decide to do, instruction or causal help is always at hand if wanted.
Little Pot Production on Small Ceramics Wheels
Our Little Pot Production Line is a great way to learn and practise throwing, turning and pot doodling. Pots that make it through the firing go into the Little Pot Shop, which is helping raise money for the amazing local charity that is, Soft Touch Arts.
We use Small Ceramics wheels because their stability and geared motors make for a surprisingly authentic throwing experience. The torque is such that the wheel remains steady when you most need it to be. In fact, the Small Ceramics wheels are so good that the skills, approaches and principles that we use on them can be directly transferred to throwing bigger.
If you’ve never thrown before, just focus on getting a feel for it. The best approach is to get stuck in, get into the zone, chase your flow state, laugh at the funny bits and let the magic in.
