What’s going on in February?
This month celebrates the everyday heroes who keep our community running! We’ll join a scavenger hunt with Curious George and the Firefighters, investigate fingerprints alongside Let’s Meet a Police Officer, make a garbage truck collage inspired by Trash Truck, and match letters with Never Mail an Elephant. Songs like “Here Comes the Fire Truck,” “Gimme That Garbage,” and our own “Community Helpers Song” help Little Explorers learn to spot each helper by their uniform and equipment.
February 2: Firefighters | Learning standard: 5.3.PK.C – Identify community workers through their uniforms and equipment.
February 9: Police Officers | Learning standard: 5.3.PK.C – Identify community workers through their uniforms and equipment.
February 16: Garbage Collectors | Learning standard: 5.3.PK.C – Identify community workers through their uniforms and equipment.
February 23: Mail Carriers | Learning standard: 5.3.PK.C – Identify community workers through their uniforms and equipment.
*Each class is led by PA certified educators utilizing age-appropriate learning standards and classroom strategies. Little Explorers Classes are intended for children ages 3 – 5 years old with an adult.
