An intimate gathering in Nairobi for social impact leaders to connect, share, grow, and think small.About this Event
Little By Little: An Afternoon of Thinking Small
Little by Little is a small, intentional gathering for social impact leaders, funders, and grassroots practitioners, designed for the conversations that usually does not get space and time. The ones about trust. About power. About what the ask actually costs.
Meaningful change is rarely born in a single moment of inspiration. It lives in small, consistent acts — in relationships formed slowly, in conversations that quietly shift perspective, in the incremental steps that create something lasting. That's what this afternoon is about.
You'll leave having been seen and having seen others — across roles that usually keep people apart.
What will actually happen
4:00 pm — Arrival + Guided Conversations.
4:30 pm — Eight Small Turns. Eight social impact fellows each share one honest moment — a decision, a doubt, a turning point — that shaped their work.
5:40 pm — The Weight of the Ask. Four social impact leaders get honest about what fundraising has really cost them, and what it would take to make it more human. With Nzambi Mattee (Gjenge Makers), Muthoni Gakwa (Metis Collective), Mark Laichena (SHOFCO), and Liz Jarman (Volante Consulting, former CEO of Living Goods).
6:15 pm — The Weight of the Yes. Four funders who hold the power to say yes or no to someone else's dream get honest about what gets in the way — and what a more equitable, trust-based approach to giving could actually look like. With Beatrice Onyango (Segal Family Foundation), Darshan Dhakan (Grassroots Business Fund), Kennedy Mugo (Kenya Conservancies Fund & GIZ Climate Finance), and Lenah N. Gideon (Partners for Equity).
6:45 pm — Audience Reflection + Q&A, facilitated by Liliana Nuñez Ugalde of LANHUC.
7:00 pm — Closing + Continued Connection.
This gathering is small on purpose. It won't be recorded. It won't be live-streamed and seats are limited to 40 people. If the ticket price is a challenge, please reach out to: [email protected].
