About this Event
We are delighted to be able to offer a whole weekend of Improv by Lisa Lynn - amazing actor and musical improviser who performs and teaches around the world. Two days of coaching to build and polish your skills as an improviser.
Both of these classes are intended for people who have some improv training already, but you don't need to have performed. There will be a pause for lunch - and other breaks - but otherwise it's go-go-go!
Saturday: 11:00 to 18:00 - Acting for Improvisers
Voice, Physicality, Use of Space etc. Condensing 3 years of Drama School training into a day – learn to utilise: levels; proxemics and mime skills (spacework) to story tell without saying anything; then safe vocal projection; enunciation; diction; inflection; accents and pace to completely control what your voice communicates when you do speak! Mixed with ways to control your physicality to create character, the correct names for the parts of the stage, and of the course number one rule of never turning your back on the audience – in short: everything you need to know to act like a pro!
Sunday: 10:30 to 17:30 - Beginners' Musical Improv
The basics – passing, patterns, poetic lyrics, rhyming, ‘dance’, choruses and emotional scenes that give you things to sing about! The charming and incredibly talented Joe Samuel (Musical Director of The Maydays) will be improvising the music with us on his keyboard.
