About this Event
This is a wonderful printing workshop and a great way to design and print your own fabrics! We show you how to relief print using a lino block. You will carve and print your block using wash-safe inks to create a repeating pattern fabric that you can use for many projects. You can bring your own images to use to design your own block (15cm square max in size) or use some of our templates. We provide all materials and equipment to use. Once you have carved your block (with lots of guidance and optional hot drinks), Holly will show you how to print your block, and you'll learn some great tips specifically for printing onto fabric.
Choose from printing a panel of fabric with either a tea towel or a tote bag - or both if you get time (additional items available to purchase for printing on - pay with cash or bank transfer on the day). We use wash-safe ink so that you can use your fabric for lots of things!
This is an adult workshop. Children aged 11+ are welcome ot be booked on, if accompanied by an adult.
Holly will provide you with support and guidance throughout – even if you have never done anything like this before, you will love the experimental approach. Holly has been teaching for over 15 years and can help you to create an artwork to be proud of. Session run by Thread and Press CIC, a Community Interest Company.
