About this Event
Create your own handmade lino print and make a design you can use again and again with Sligo-based artist Nollaig Molloy. You could make cards for family and friends or simply try a fun, traditional printing technique to create your own artwork.
The workshop starts with a simple introduction to lino printing. You’ll learn how the process works, see examples of prints, materials and inks, and get help creating your own design. You’ll then transfer your design onto an A6 lino block, ready to carve.
Next, you’ll learn how to carve the lino safely and use the tools correctly. You’ll make test prints and improve your design before creating your final prints.
Once your block is finished, you’ll learn how to mix inks and print your design by hand. You can also add other materials to your artwork. If there is enough time and the prints are dry, you’ll be shown how to add personal touches with mixed media combinations.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home your hand-carved lino block, a selection of handmade prints and the skills to continue printing at home.

No previous experience is needed.
Cancellation
Tickets are refundable up to 7 days before the workshop. After this time, tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person. If the organiser cancels the workshop, you will receive a full refund or be offered an alternative date.
