The holiday season shines bright in Washington Park! The District Light the Park Committee has teamed up with the Quincy Rotary After Dark Quincy Christmas Parade Committee to incorporate the two family-friendly holiday events in the heart of Quincy. Santa and his sleigh will close-out the parade–that travels down Maine and ends at Washington Park. “At approximately 7pm, Santa and his VIP helper will ceremoniously throw the switch to the lights, instantly turning Washington Park into a beautifully lit winter-wonderland,” stated Brianna Rivera, executive director of The District.
Following the lighting ceremony Santa will be in his specially designed Washington Park home visiting with children until approximately 9pm. Adults and children alike are sure to enjoy the sights (displays), sounds (music) and tastes (hot cocoa and cookies) of Christmas throughout the park.
In addition to the lighted displays within the park, light poles stretching from 4th to 12th Streets along Maine will once again be decorated with festive lights and greenery.
Bring the family, enjoy the lights and kick off the Christmas season together in Washington Park!
