Light Night Wigan returns for its 6th year! 🎉And we’re doing things a little bit differently this time around… 👀
📅 Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd November
📍 Across Wigan Town Centre & Mesnes Park
Curated by Things That Go On Things, in partnership with Wigan Council, Visit Wigan, Arts Council England and Light Up The North, this FREE outdoor light festival will transform Wigan with glowing, interactive artworks from local, national and international artists.
NEW for 2026, Light Night Wigan is expanding beyond Mesnes Park, with installations appearing across Wigan Town Centre too, giving even more people the opportunity to experience the world of light art.
We’re delighted to be partnering with several iconic Wigan venues and locations, including Sir Billy Boston Square, The Old Courts, Wigan Museum and Makinson Arcade. Plus, for the first time in decades, The Royal Court Theatre on King Street will open its doors to the public, with a stunning light artwork highlighting the building’s architecture.
And there’s even more happening across the weekend… ✨
We’ll also be partnering with Wigan Council for this year’s Christmas Light Switch On, adding an extra bit of festive magic to your Light Night weekend! 🎄
