About this Event
What if the most radical thing a neighborhood could do together was play?
For one night only, The Laundromat Project is thrilled to present a multi-site activation across Bed-Stuy’s Fulton Street—Liberation Series: Pop-Up! From the hair braiding shops to the bakeries and even the laundromats, we know that it’s in our communities’ hyperlocal small businesses that culture happens, and community gathers! In this special pop-up installment of the monthly Liberation Series, five local storefronts along Fulton Street will become creative spaces for a limited time that are filled with creative interventions. Our curators, Mz. Icar, are teaming up with local artists to explore how play can transform public space into a site of imagination and collective experience. All community members and patrons will experience the art, connect with neighbors, and learn about Bed-Stuy’s legacy small businesses. Move from one activation to the next, exploring and discovering something new. Pick up a map at any participating location, collect memories at our Polaroid station, and celebrate the power of art and community with us!
