The trials are about to begin!Join the LFG Book Club at Barnes & Noble Fort Lauderdale for our September pick, The Sunbearer Trials by Aiden Thomas!
Inspired by Mexican mythology, The Sunbearer Trials takes readers into a vibrant world where ten semidioses are selected every decade to compete in a series of challenges designed to replenish the Sun's power and keep the evil Obsidian gods at bay.
For seventeen-year-old Teo, a Jade semidiós and the trans son of Quetzal, goddess of birds, being chosen for the trials was never supposed to happen. But when Teo is unexpectedly selected alongside his friends-and some of the most powerful young semidioses in Reino del Sol-the competition quickly becomes about far more than winning.
Filled with mythology, adventure, friendship, queer representation, dangerous trials, and plenty to discuss, this is the perfect pick for LFG!
