Build the knowledge and skills to support the UK’s journey towards greener, more energy-efficient homes with the Level 2 Award in Domestic Retrofit Advice. This 2-week course taking place over a total of 6 days.
The dates of the course are Starting Wednesday 4th February 2026, Thursday 5th February & Friday 6th February followed by Wednesday 11th February, Thursday 12th & Friday 13th February at Capital City College – Tottenham Centre.
You’ll learn about home energy efficiency, fuel poverty, and the regulations shaping retrofit. The course also covers health and safety, risk assessment, fire precautions, asbestos awareness, and the fundamentals of retrofit installations, materials, and construction types. Learners will gain the skills to interpret drawings, specifications, and risk assessments.
Delivered face-to-face, the course is assessed via a 40-question multiple-choice exam. With full support provided, successful learners can progress to the Level 3 Domestic Retrofit Bootcamp or move into jobs such as Customer Service Advisor or Resident Liason Officer within the retrofit sector, with the starting salary being between £30k-£35k.
Eligibility (fully funded if you meet criteria):
- British resident
- Aged 19 and over
- Unemployed or claiming benefits
- If employed, earning under £27,000
- Pre-settled, settled, or indefinite leave to remain with 3+ years UK residency
