About this Event
This fast-paced 3-hour class will include a live demo by the instructor, Karen Curry who is well known for her loose, romantic and color abstract art. She will narrate an introduction to the concept of producing larger and looser paintings as she paints. The focus of the class will be on actual production of work addressing the development of your own signature brushstrokes, colors and moods that tell the story of your work. Students will need large brushes, large canvases, a generous amount of paint and an open mind. After a series of warm-ups, we will fully launch into creating a large work.
Materials to bring: Large canvas, acrylic paints of your own choice, brushes of various sizes - please include some of bigger size 3inch width or more
Karen Curry holds a B.A. Fine Art as well as a Master’s of Art Education. She has taught extensively in the Vancouver school system and in worldwide venues including Palm Springs and was privileged to instruct as artist in residence on four occasions at the former home of Henri Matisse - Villa Le Reve in Vence, France. She loves sharing the excitement and edification of creating art. Karen says "There is nothing like it."
