Join us this fall for a special three-day exploration of the seductive, defiant, and enduring power of Carmen, reimagined by the Joffrey Ballet. Let’s Talk About Art: Carmen invites older adults (ages 65+) into the world of ballet, music, and storytelling through a mix of virtual conversation, live performance, and hands-on art-making.
Program Overview
- Day 1: Virtual Seminar (September 16, 10–11:30 AM)Go behind the curtain with members of the Joffrey creative team in an online discussion.
- Day 2: Dress Rehearsal (September 17, time TBD)Witness Carmen come to life during a dress rehearsal at the Lyric Opera House.
- Day 3: Workshop (September 18, 1–2:30 PM)Create your own Carmen-inspired artwork in a guided workshop at Hyde Park Art Center.
Free and open to adults 65+. Space is limited to 20 participants.
