Art Reach of Mid Michigan invites you to our October Let’s Do Lunch, featuring award-winning Michigan bird photographer and conservation storyteller Steve Jessmore, from noon–1 pm Thursday, October 15, in The Morey Family Gallery at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in downtown Mt. Pleasant. This event is free and open to the public. Bring your lunch and join us!In "250 Mornings," Jessmore will share stories from a year spent returning again and again to the same boardwalk at Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids, often arriving before sunrise to wait, watch and photograph the birds and wildlife around him. After more than 250 mornings, the experience became about more than capturing the perfect photograph. It became a lesson in patience, paying attention and discovering the extraordinary wildlife that can exist right in our own backyard.
Jessmore will share memorable encounters and the stories behind his photographs, along with a look at his ongoing "Birds Doing Stuff" project and forthcoming book, "The Splendor Next Door." His work has been recognized by the National Audubon Society and featured in Audubon magazine.
Jessmore is also the featured artist in The Morey Family Gallery throughout October with his exhibition, "Birds Doing Stuff – The Splendor Next Door," giving guests an opportunity to experience more of his photography during their visit.
