A Weekend of New Music with the Twin Ports Wind Orchestra!Join the Twin Ports Wind Orchestra for an exciting weekend celebrating community, creativity, and the power of music!
On Saturday, October 24, TPWO will travel to Edina to participate in Let's Band Together: The Great Minnesota Community Band Festival, hosted by Minnesota Symphonic Winds. This annual festival brings community wind ensembles together to celebrate adult music-making and support historically underrepresented composers. This year's artist-in-residence is Indian American composer Shruthi Rajasekar, whose music explores themes of identity, community, and joy.
TPWO is honored to premiere Rajasekar's newly commissioned Saraswati Suite, a three-movement work inspired by Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of music, knowledge, learning, and art.
Then, on Sunday, October 25, we'll bring the music home to Duluth for our TPWO Home Concert at the University of Minnesota Duluth! Join us at Weber Music Hall as we continue our 2026–27 season, exploring the musical landscapes of the Americas and celebrating the diverse traditions and voices that enrich our musical world.
Whether you're joining us in the Twin Cities for the festival or cheering us on here in the Twin Ports, we invite you to be part of this special weekend of musical discovery.
