Les Enfants Terribles by Philip Glass is a gripping and poetic chamber opera based on Jean Cocteau’s novel of the same name. The hypnotic piano music enhances the intimate atmosphere of this deeply moving work.

It tells the story of how people build a world to protect themselves from the uncertainty of existence. That world first becomes a refuge, then a game, next a system, and finally a Pr*son. The tragedy is not that they lack love, but that their love leaves no room for the unknown.
